ABOUT THE COLLECTIVE

WHAT IS THE HUMMINGBIRD COLLECTIVE

The Hummingbird Collective is an innovative concept created by Nicola Hudson, the owner of Little Hummingbird Events and Hudson & Porter.

This collective serves as a gathering place for makers, creators, crafters, and artisans of all kinds, including small independent businesses. It provides a beautiful space where each participant supports one another in achieving their trading goals.

The Hummingbird Collective first opened its doors in Wakefield in November 2023, located on the Upper Mall of the Ridings Shopping Centre. It quickly gained popularity.

In 2024, the company experienced unprecedented growth, leading to the launch of three additional stores by June of that year, bringing the total to four. The collective brand continues to diversify annually, attracting an increasing number of unique and unusual creators who describe the space as "their happy place."

Our current locations may be found in Sheffield, Huddersfield, Retford, Elsecar Heritage Centre and soon to be Bridlington.

Being part of a collective might not suit everyone; however, if you are passionate about your work and enjoy connecting with others who share that passion, you're already halfway there!

WHAT OUR COLLECTIVE MEMBERS SAY

"We began our journey with Hummingbird over three years ago, trading at the local craft fairs. When the opportunity came to be in a ‘bricks and mortar’ shop, we jumped at the chance. Knowing how professional and supportive Nicola and her team were, the chance to become a member of the Hummingbird Collective was too good to pass up.

We have been in the Collective shops ever since the first one opened in November 2023 and have never looked back! It’s become a huge family who bring different skills and experiences to the mix, with positive advice and support at every turn! Retailing our products through the Collective stores has become a major part of our sales; leaving us with more time to create and develop new ideas."
